This long-running drama series was developed from a feature-length film about the London Fire Brigade. Set in the Blackwall Fire Station, London's Burning followed the working and personal lives of Blue Watch, based at Blackwell Fire Station in East London.

A centre-piece of ITV's weekend schedules for several years, later series saw the departure of many long-standing characters and an increasing focus on soap-style plot lines.

With viewing figures around half those enjoyed in its heyday, the show was cancelled in 2002.

A radio is playing, the presenters are talking about the Russian Satellite that has fallen out or orbit and the chances of it hitting earth. Charlie opens his new chippie - Charles Plaice. Dom walks out of his chippie - Fish Heaven, which is on the opposite of the street. Mick is at home and Shauna is running around dressed as an Indian playing with Liam. Sally arrives home and sits down, pulling a pregnancy test out of a bag. Frank sits in a pub drinking and smoking. Adam meets DI Roebuck and gets in his car, looks at photographs of Jimmy Watts. In the mess... Craig talks about satellire's telling the watch about one which hit a part of Canada where no - one really lived, then says if one hit London it would have devastating effects.

A great cast with interesting stories and a good change of pace from American fare. An informative look at English culture and attitudes towards safety. Everyday life in London gets a good representation in this well written drama series set in a London ...Continue »
