After the success of Sesame Street in 1969, Muppet creator Jim Henson wanted to have a chance at his own series. add »Dorothy Gale (played here by Ashanti) wants desperately to get out of Kansas and become a famous pop singer. But before she can do anything about it, she and her pet prawn Pepe (Bill Barretta) get whisked away to the Land of Oz, where she must find the Wizard (Jeffrey Tambor) in order to get home.
Along the way, she makes friends with the Scarecrow (Kermit, played by Steve Whitmire), the Cowardly Lion (Fozzie Bear, played by Eric Jacobson), and the Tin Thing (Gonzo, played by Dave Goelz).
She must also try to avoid falling into the clutches of the Wicked Witches (all played by Miss Piggy, aka Eric Jacobson).
