Ready Steady Go! was produced by Associated-Rediffusion, which had the ITV franchise
in the London region. (The company was renamed "Rediffusion" in 1964.) Ready Steady Go! began as a local, London show. But by early 1964, it was carried on the entire ITV network.
Initially, the RSG! guests mimed to their records. By late 1964, some of the guests were performing live. The series switched to all live performances in April 1965 and was temporarily re-titled Ready Steady Goes Live!.
