The hunt for the Last Comic Standing continues with auditions. Two former Cheers stars, George Wendt and John Ratzenberger, scout for talent in Nashville, while Kate Flannery and Brian Baumgartner scout for talent in Minneapolis.

John Raztenberger contributed his voice for a small role in the English version of the Japanese animated hit Spirited Away

While starring in Cheers, John appeared in 3 public service announcements for NBC's The More You Know. His topics were stay in school, reading, and a teacher tribute.

In 1989, John developed packaging alternatives made from biodegradable and non-toxic recycled paper as a safe alternative to Styrofoam "peanuts" and plastic bubble wrap. The first product, Quadra-pack, became an international success with clients including Hallmark, Elizabeth Arden, and Nordstrom.

At first John was going for the role of Norm Petterson, when he felt he wasn't going to get it he made up a character and told the producers about him and then Cliff Clavin was madeup.
