Reese was ranked #49 in FHM Online's 100 Sexiest Women in the World of 2007. (edit) Reese has said that her first child Ava--who was born when she was 23--was the first baby she ever held in her life. (edit) Reese was nominated for a Golden Globe in 2000 for the movie Election. The category was Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture - Comedy/Musical. (edit) Reese won an Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role in 2005 for the movie Walk the Line, in which she played June Carter Cash. She also won the Best Actress Oscar for this role. (edit) Reese was chosen as one of People Magazine's annual 100 Most Beautiful People in May 2007. (edit)

Reese (on what was going through her head when she had just won the Oscar for Best Actress): Oh, no! Oh, no! Oh, no! I hope I don't have to say anything! You know, it's really hard for me. One of the hardest things about this movie ("Walk The Line") was talking in front of a large group of people- or singing in front of a large group of people. I'm used to a filmmaking experience which for me has always been very small and intimate, with never more than 50 people watching your performance. So for me it was a great sort of accomplishment to just learn to stand in my own shows, and in my own self, and be proud of myself... it's different for me. (edit) Reese: I came from a wonderful family- very intelligent people, very eccentric people, a wonderful southern family. I've been very lucky and blessed that there was a lot of love in my family, no matter what else was going on. We all love each other very much, so it really is a gift and I think that's a huge part of how I was able to achieve what I did. (edit) Reese Witherspoon: The thing that bugs me about today's kids is that everyone gets MVP. Everybody receives the award! No! That's not right! I vividly remember the two weeks of crying when I didn't make the volleyball team. It made me interesting. (edit) Reese Witherspoon: I'm a big organizer person. I can spend a good three hours on my sock drawer. It's fantastic! (edit) Reese: (describing the kissing scene between her & Vince Vaughn in "Four Christmases") When we shot the kissing scenes, the top of my head hits Vince's armpit! I had an apple box and a platform that I dragged around with me and stood on it. (edit)
