Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Christina Chang was raised by her Chinese-Filipino father and American mother and, at the age of 17, moved to the United States to study theater and film in her mother's home state of Kansas. She went on to earn a Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington in Seattle.
Chang's first professional acting job was in the play "Naomi's Road" at the Seattle Children's Theater, and from there she progressed to the Off-Broadway production of Tina Landau's "The Trojan Women."
Once in New York, she made several guest and recurring appearances on various television programs, including "Girls Club," "Cosby," "The Guiding Light" and "As the World Turns." She has also worked with "L.A. Dragnet" executive producer Dick Wolf previously, on his 2000 series, "Deadline." On the big screen, her credits include "28 Days," "Dinner and a Movie," "Random Hearts" and "Brother Tied."
Chang's other interests include working with children -- following in the footsteps of her mother, who is a school counselor. She speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and has also studied the art of the trapeze.
