Ackerman gained much acclaim for directing the sitcom Seinfeld. Following his success, he went on to direct Seinfeld alum Julia Louis-Dreyfus in both her current hit show The New Adventures of Old Christine and her short-lived series Watching Ellie. He is also directing Rules of Engagement which stars Patrick Warburton, who played the recurring character David Puddy on Seinfeld. (edit)
