On July 28, 2007, Roger entered the game between his New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles with 351 career wins. His opponent, Brian Burres, had only 4. The 347-win differential was the largest in a MLB game since August 27, 1965. On that day, Warren Spahn entered his game with 362 career wins and went up against Darrell Sutherland of the Mets who had only 1.

On July 18, 2007, Roger played his 700th Major League game.
(edit)
On July 2, 2007, Roger became the eighth pitcher in MLB history to win his 350th game. It was the first time someone won 350 since Warren Spahn back on September 29, 1963. Spahn's catcher in his 350th win was Joe Torre, Roger's Manager on the Yankees.

On June 24, 2007, Roger made a relief appearance against Barry Bonds of the San Franciso Giants. In doing so he broke the MLB record of longest time between relief appearances with a stretch of 22 years and 338 days. The previous record was 15 years and 331 days held by Steve Carlton of the Philadelphia Phillies.
(edit)
On June 21, 2007, Roger became the oldest Yankee (44 years and 321 days) to get a hit as he singled up the middle against pitcher Rodrigo Lopez of the Colorado Rockies. He broke the record of 43 years and 95 days held by Johnny Cooney which had been set exactly 63 years ago (June 21, 1944).

Roger: I just feel really blessed. I don't know any other way to put it. To be linked with some of these guys that they're linking me with is just a neat event, and I appreciate it. (On winning game number 350)
(edit)
Roger: It felt like old times. I've got to take a little deep breath now. I understand the excitement that's there and the expectations that are there. There's a lot of both. (On first start of 2007)
(edit)
Roger: I don't know that I have anything left to prove. I still have people that I don't want to let down: Cash and Mr. Steinbrenner. I thank them again for this opportunity.
(edit)
Roger: I've got a lot of responsibility on my shoulders, and I understand that. But I have a lot of help here to get this club where it wants to go. Everyone wants to be a champion. In New York, it's a different level, and I understand that.
(edit)
Roger: I'm coming back to do the only thing they know how to do with the Yankees, and that's win a championship. Anything else is a failure, and I know that.
