Ashley played Linda Porter in the film De-Lovely. (edit) Ashley played the role of Lucy Fowler in the 2006 film Come Early Morning. She had great difficulty filming the scene where she spears frogs because it challenged her value system. (edit) Ashley was nominated for the 'Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries or a Special' award at the 1996 Emmy Awards for her role as Norma Jean in the mini-series Norma Jean & Marilyn (1996). Ashley: (using three words she's dying to use in conversation) His lack of perspicacity was revealed by the calumny with which he spoke. Hence, a debacle ensued. Debacle is not so fantastically challenging a word but it is wonderful in the mouth (edit) Ashley: I've played women who are hurt and who are coping. In some instances, they are bright women who have a lot of skills and resiliency and in other instances, like in Norma Jean and Marilyn, they're incredibly emotional and vulnerable. (edit) Ashley: If I see an animal on the side of the road that's been hit, I stop and I take care of the animal's remains in a way, to me, that feels very respectful. (edit) Ashley: And I very much believe in things unseen, both of positive and destructive energy, and I have never seen "The Exorcist" through from start to finish. I find it too realistic, frankly, and too disturbing for me. I absolutely believe in spiritual warfare and have experienced it in my life. (edit) Ashley: I have a responsibility to nurture and shepherd my talent and when I'm living the parts of my life not related to that I feel I have the right to be left alone. (edit)
