Do you know what scares you? You will get to see what scares the living daylights out of average citizens just like you on Scare Tactics, the hit series from the Sci-Fi Channel and the producers of the hidden camera show Spy TV. The series puts a new spin on the hidden camera idea by featuring pranks inspired by science-fiction and horror films. Such pranks feature "victims" in situations involving haunted houses, alien abductions and more. As an added twist, throughout the seasons the different hosts of Scare Tactics take part in many of the show's pranks.

For those who think the pranks may be too mean-spirited, the producers assure that the show's staff creates detailed bios on each person to ensure that they can handle the kind of situations in which they might be placed. "That's very important to note," producer Kevin Healey says of the selection process. "We're not just playing these wacky, crazy jokes on people who are unsuspecting. We work very hard with friends and family members to make sure that the jokes are appropriate for them, that they'll get a kick out of it, all that kind of stuff. That they don't have any health problems." That's one thing that the critics of the show fail to notice. Friends and family members actually have a big hand in setting up the pranks and the "victims" are not just random innocent people suckered in by the show's supposedly "cruel" producers.

Originally ordered as an addition to the Sci Fi Channel's October 2002 line-up, the show was instead moved to April 2003. Scare Tactics began with a one-hour premiere, showing two original episodes back-to-back on April 4, 2003. Season one episodes aired Fridays at 10:00 p.m. followed by a repeat of the prior week's episode at 10:30 p.m. In its second season, the first few episodes of the series aired Thursdays at 10:00pm. After a long hiatus, new episodes began airing on Wednesdays at 10:00p.m. ET. The show ended in December 2004. Three and a half years later, Sci Fi Channel revived the series with episodes of Season 3 starting up on July 9, 2008.

I give this show 5 stars because i like 2 see people get scared like crazy and this is funny. ***** stars for this show. I found this show on the sci-fi website. They have two episodes up at a time that you can watch for free. Anyways, it seems to me that it is all fake. The people being tricked often seem like they are acting and not very well. For example the voodoo doll one: Why did she just sit there not moving? I would think most people would reach over and try to get the doll from the voodoo lady. Their fear just doesn't seem real a lot of the times. Nonetheless the show is kind of cool. I wish there was a way to know for sure if the people being tricked are actors or not. I suppose I would need to know someone personally that was on the show. If you are bored, and you have nothing else to do, hop on the sci-fi website and stream the show.

Obviously the SlyLie Channel doesn't have anyone creative to rely on when it comes to programming. This loser show is the end of the line for the losers hosting it. First Shannon Doherty. Then Stephen Baldwin. Now this loser. It must be terrible to be on the downward slide of your career and end up hosting this garbage show. It's sad to see the channel going down the tubes. It had such promise in 1992 when it started. "All science fiction. All the time." was its credo then. Now it seems the channel is the dumping ground for every P.O.S. show that NBC Universal won't put on their mainstream networks. I mean, could someone PLEASE tell me just what fake wrestling has to do with science fiction? Sure it's fiction because everyone knows that the outcome of the matches are already decided and scripted BEFORE they're even started. But science fiction? Puh-leeze!

I love this show. I wannt to find out how to sign up for it. I know several people I would love to pull a prank like the ones on this show on. One of them has a fear of sharks and would be perfect for this show! Please let me know. I also know someone who is afraid of spiders that would be perfect. Not to mention bats snakes and other creepy crawlie things that go bump in the night. I loved the spa for the vampire women episode. please oh please let me know how to apply so I can get them to play pranks on these people.hahahahahaha

This show is so funny scarey & unbelievable all at once.I would love to get my teenage daughters scared on it Because they always think everything that happens to them is fake.It is great to see peoples reactions I dont know how they pull this stuff off But my mom & I are losing it when we watch.Sometimes you are watching & you acually are feeling bad for the victim but not really.Some of the stunts they pull on people are so real Like when They start pounding on someone.My old time favorite is Little Rat Man That was excellent.
