"I wish, I wish, with all my heart, to fly with dragons, in a land apart." They arrive in Dragon Land, but have no idea where they are. They observe Ord and Cassie flying. After the introductions, they fly to Singing Springs where they meet Zak and Wheezie, who are actually two dragons, but share one body. Meanwhile, Ord's lost his baby tooth and wants to find it so that he can make a wish on it. At the end of the episode, Ord wishes that Max and Emmy can keep coming back to Dragon Land. #10301 "Knot a Problem" Emmy loves new shoes, but Max thinks getting a balloon is better. One of the dragons calls them to Dragon Land. They go and we observe Ord holding the dragon scale. They have to find her before the merry-go-round leaves. Quetzal comes to help and they pick partners. Quetzal's brought rope so they can lead the pony back when they find it. But Max can't tie a knot! Can he learn this essential skill and help them find the pony? #10302 "Ord's Unhappy Birthday" Emmy and Max are preparing presents for Ord. We see Max is still having a bit of trouble tying knots. Max's finger ends up getting tied to his present. When they reach Dragon Land and see Ord, he's eager to tell them about his birthday, but they're very skiddish and tell him that they're going to a picnic with Cassie. But is winning all that matters? #10402 "Calling Dr. Zak" Max and Emmy go to Dragon Land and bring musical instruments with them. Just then, a spiny-pine appears, attracted by some fruit that spilled from Wheezie's decorative hat and Zak accidentally steps on it. Wheezie recommends going to see the doctor, but Zak's scared. But without getting out, they can't do the contest. So the other dragons and Max and Emmy play pretend doctor and Zak feels much better. He's still not sure about it though. 5. Pigment of Your Imagination / Zak's Song
First aired: 9/10/1999#10501 "Pigment of Your Imagination" Max is having fun with a toy plane and ends up knocking down a block structure that Emmy was making. He's upset because he broke the plane and now it won't fly anymore. There's something even better they can fly though- dragons. They go to Dragon Land, where the dragons are making presents for "I Love My Mommy Day." For example, they're using clay to make flower-holders and baking them with their firebreath. Max gets some dandelions for his flower-holder and Ord sneezes because he's allergic. Their paint gets spilled and they go to Quetzal for more, but he's running low. He sends them to Rainbow Canyon and provides them with a map. When Max and Emmy fight and break the map, they and the dragons have to work together to fix it before it rains at Rainbow Canyon and the colors get mixed together. #10502 "Zak's Song" The dragon scale is glowing. It's late at night though and Max and Emmy are in their pajamas and have a serious case of bedhead. Neverthless, they can't ignore their dragon friends, can they? They recite the growingly familiar rhyme and when they get to Dragon Land, Max is a bit loud, but is quickly quieted down. The dragons are listening to beautiful music, which they've been hearing every morning and don't know where it's coming from. Max and Emmy help and they find the Do-Re-Mi birds, "the sweetest singing birds in all of Dragon Land." Wheezie wants to join in singing with them, but Zak's afraid Wheezie will scare them with her loud racket. She indeed does and the Do-Re-Mis fly away. Zak wants to lure them back with a soft lullaby, but nobody pays attention to him and against Zak's warnings they hatch more and more outrageous plans and the Do-Re-Mis fly further and further away.

He lets Max, Emmy and our dragon friends be his crew and they sail with him to find his treasure, using a series of pictures he drew when he was young. #11102 "Four Little Pigs" Max, Emmy, and the dragons decide to put on a production of "The Three Little Pigs." 14. Dragon Drop / Cassie Loves a Parade
Community Score
9.0 Superb
#11401 "Dragon Drop" It's the day of the Dragon Fair and one of the fun activities is a game called Sackberry Toss. Sackberrys are a lot like water balloons, but unlike them, they have a sticky purple juice inside. This is a big problem for Zak and Wheezie, who want to join in the game, but don't know how to catch. Emmy helps them out by teaching them the basics. #11402 "Cassie Loves a Parade" Cassie is abslutely beside herself when she's not chosen to be in the big Dragon Land parade. She soon finds a friend who's upset over exactly the same thing.
15. A Cool School / Max's Comic Adventure
Community Score
9.5 Superb
#11501 "A Cool School" We open the show with Emmy bringing in a pair of backpacks into the playroom - one for herself and one for Max. She can't find Max anywhere and so she calls out name a couple of times. Eventually, she finds Max under a cardboard fortress. Max explains that he's scared about going to school. Emmy decides to take Max to the School in the Sky in Dragon Land in the hopes that might help him feel better about going to school. They go to Dragon Land and materialize in front of Ord and Cassie. Ord's mom gives him his lunch. They then call Zak and Wheezie out of their knuckerhole. Emmy elaborates her plans to them. They then go see Quetzal to get permission. Emmy takes Quetzal aside, where she whispers to him that Max is afraid of going to school and that her idea is for them to intend the School in the Sky. Quetzal agrees, as "all are welcome." Zak finds Wheezie's cubbyhole dusty. Meanwhile, Ord finds that his lunch doesn't fit into his cubbyhole, so he gobbles his lunch up first. First order of school: fire breathing. Emmy attempts this, but ends up blowing raspberry. Max tries too and get upset when he can't do it. He can't breathe fire, he's not a dragon. They go see Quetzal, who dispenses some of his wise philosophy. He has some ultra-hot salsa and they can "breathe fire" using that. His idea is "don't give up; try something new." Next order of business - flying. Emmy and Max figure that they can't fly. So, Max remembers what Quetzal told him and comes up with the idea of using the swings to simulate flight. After that, it's playtime. All's well from there, at least until they have to tidy things up. Wheezie accidentally knocks over a can of paint causing, some of playblocks to become the same color. They're supposed to put them all away neatly in their proper places, but how can they do that if they can't separate them by color? Max has another smart idea: they may all be the same color, but they are all the same shape. With the problem solved, Max and Emmy leave Dragon Land. They return to the playroom and Max gets ready to leave for school. Emmy, however, stops him, noting that school starts tomorrow, not today. #11502 "Max's Comic Adventure" Emmy is playing while Max is reading his "Mondo Mouse" 3-D comic, a special type of comic book with pictures that pop-out if you read them with 3-D glasses. The story so far: Mondo was catnapped and jailed in a cave somehwere, so he uses a mirror to signal for help. Max shows the comic to Emmy. Emmy says that Mondo Mouse is just a comic book character and not real, but Max believes that he is, in fact, real. They decide to go to Dragon Land. At Dragon Land, Zak and Wheezie are playing hopscotch while Ord and Cassie are sitting nearby. Emmy and Max appears. Max shows the comic to the dragons. Wheezie looks around with the glass and spots a mark on a nearby tree - a hand pointing to the right. Oddly enough, the sign is only visible to someone wearing the 3-d glasses. Zak asks what it means and Wheezie says, "Maybe it means..." and acts like she's going to pick her nose. They all follow the sign and end up at Turtle Rock. Wheezie sees a 3D image of Mondo Mouse. Ord suggests that it's telling them to fly like a superhero. He tries this, but just ends up being caught on a branch on of a nearby tree. Cassie thinks it over and then tells the gang her idea: to fly in the direction that the image was pointing to. They try this and Max sees a light emanating from a group of mountains. The gang checks it out and finds a cave. Ord gets panicky, but decides to follow everyone in anyway. They find Mondo Mouse trapped in a cage. Mondo Mouse tells them that he was lured out of the comic book by the villain and locked in. To unlock the cage, the gang must figure out the code to enter into the lock keypad. They try a number of combinations, but none of them work. Then, they notice that the keypad looks like a hopscotch board. They try a combination based on hopscotch and it works. Mondo takes them on a free ride, then returns to the world of Max's comic book. Max and Emmy return home and decide to play superhero. Emmy decides to be Star Princess Emmy. Max has a clever one- he's "Mondo Max."
16. It Happened One Nightmare / Staying Within the Lines
Community Score
8.0 Great
#11601 "It Happened One Nightmare" Max is stacking bottles in the playroom. Emmy enters and asks if Max is ready to go to Dragon Land. Max tries to knock the bottles down, but without success. They head for Dragon Land and arrive near the entrance of a carnival. There's a dragon nearby hawking roasted marshmallows. Max and Emmy both want some. He gives them a marshmallow, but Emmy complains that it's not roasted. So the dragon toasts it with his firebreath. They go in and look around. There's lots of fun things to do. They see Quetzal manning a "throw the rings into the unicorn's horn" booth and Cassie's taking a shot. She tries and misses. Emmy takes a shot and wins a plush dragon teddy. She turns to talk to Cassie, but Cassie's fallen asleep, standing. She wakes up and Zak and Wheezie pop up out of a knuckerhole. Zak keeps snoozing off while explaining that they were having a sleepover at Ord's place, when Ord had a nightmare and kept them up all night. Wheezie keeps insisting that she's wide awake. Ord comes by and apologizes. He explains that he's afraid of going back to sleep because he fears that the nightmare might come back. Quetzal suggests that they go take a nap at a bunch of shady trees nearby. So, they do. However, Ord, being afraid of going back to Dreamland, pulls out a bell and put it under his chin. This keeps him awake, but it also keeps everyone else awake. Cassie suggests that they all group together, since whenever she gets a nightmare, she crawls into bed with all 74 of her brothers and sisters. The thing is, Ord's a only child in his family. So in lieu of siblings, they all sleep together on Quetzal's hammock, but it doesn't help. They decide to ask Ord what his nightmare is about. Ord reveals that the dream starts with him picking flowers. Then, he turns around and sees a giant chasing him. So he starts running and then hides under his blanket, but the giant sees him anyway, and leaps onto him. Then he wakes up. Emmy suggests staging a re-enactment of the dream. The gang will pretend to be the monster in Ord's dream, while Ord of course, remains himself. Ord is instructed to start picking flowers, so he does so. The monster appears. The gang appears as the monster, but their costume isn't scary- it's funny! Ord runs, but breaks out laughing because of the monster's funny looks. After seeing the funny "monster," Ord's no longer afraid to go to sleep. Quetzal drops by to see how they are doing. All of them have gone to sleep except Wheezie, who's not sleepy. Or is she? #11602 "Staying Within the Lines" Emmy's in the playroom drawing a picture of Cassie, while Max draws a race circuit and plays around with it for a while. The dragon scale glows- someone's calling them to Dragon Land! They go to Dragon Land, where Ord's waiting for them. Quetzal then drops by and explains that the color in Dragon Land were washed away by a rainstorm the night before. They're asked to help they're dragon friends color things back in. Quetzal will color in the School in the Sky and they can do the rest. They just have to watch out for the mean giant sleeping in the Stickleback Mountains. They meet up with Zak and Wheezie and start coloring in Dragon Land. Max, however, isn't very good at coloring. They suggest that Max try coloring in the sky. He colors a cloud grey, which makes it rain. Rain is what caused the problem in the first place. Emmy fixes the problem by coloring in the sun. They try having Max color in the dirt instead, but Max strays off and starts coloring the giant. The giant! Max's coloring tickles the giant. He wakes up and sees his color missing and thinks that Max stole it. Cassie explains that his color was washed away by the rain. The giant's still not happy and tells them to color him in. Cassie gets scared of the giant and shrinks, while Ord turns invisible. Max eventually ends up coloring him, but he gives him hair and a beard. Everyone's afraid the giant will be upset, but he's actually happy because he hasn't had either hair or a beard in years! The giant, having been fully colored in, helps them fix the color in the rest of Dragon Land. Back in the playroom, Emmy and Max argue over who's the best scribbler. Max ends the argument by scribbling on the screen, taking us to the credits.
17. Follow the Dots / A Smashing Success
Community Score
8.5 Great
#11701 "Follow the Dots" Max and Emmy are working on activity books in the playroom. Max sticks a sticker of two airplanes next to the number 3, then realizes that he has made a mistake. He tries to fix the problem, but has problems with the sticker. The dragon scale glows- they're being called to Dragon Land. The dragons are playing a game they call "whack-it-back," a slightly modified version of badminton with is played with a whistling shuttlecock (called a - you guessed it - whistler) and wooden rackets. The whistler is sent hurling into Zak's nose. He's not amused and blows it out. Max tries playing, but misses hitting the whistler. Ord hits the whistler with his tail, but it's with such force that he sends it a long way and loses it. Ord's upset, as that was a special whistler that his Dad gave him. They have to find it. As they go looking for it, they encounter a funny little guy named Norm the Number Gnome. Norm says he'll help them find it, but first, they have to solve his number puzzle. They want to know what his problem is, why he can't just tell them, so he explains that, "it'll be more fun if we play a game using the numbers ten to one." Then, he vanishes. So the gang begins work on solving the puzzle. 1 rock, 2 trees, trees do hula. They all split up. Max counts watermelons, but they start jumping around like jumping beans. So Ord eats each one as Max counts it to solve the problem. There's five total. Ord gives Max half of the last watermelon. Meanwhile, Emmy finds a dot next to 6 dragon peppers - spicy hot, just like Mexican chili peppers. She counts them in Spanish: uno, dos, tres, cuatro, cinco, seis. Max and Ord spot seven dandelions. Ord's allergic to dandelions and he blows off all their seeds. Zak and Wheezie find what appears to be an empty spot at first, but then eight do-re-mi birds land. Finally, ten rosie-poo flowers are counted to the tune of "Ten Little Indians." They connect the dots, but it doesn't seem to mean anything. Did Norm trick them? Emmy suggests they take to the skies to have a better look at the picture the dots formed. It's an arrow, and it's pointing to a tree! They find the whistler, stuck inside the tree. They play a little more whack-it-back before Max and Emmy go home. They do a connect-the-dots activity in the playroom... and it turns out to be a picture of Norm! #11702 "A Smashing Success" Emmy is telling Max that he needs to hurry and finish what he's doing, as they have to do the spotlight for a concert in Dragon Land. Max, in a rush, accidentally breaks a doll of Emmy's. Rather than telling her, he decides to hide what he did. They arrive during a rehearsal. The dragons are doing a good job and they break for a snack. Emmy picks up Wheezie's trumpet and starts imitating Wheezie, but ends up breaking it. She pleads with Max not to tell Wheezie what she did and then hides the trumpet. The dragons return, ready to practice again. Wheezie can't find her trumpet and so she blames Zak for losing it. Zak defends his innocence. Max tries to tell them what Emmy did, but Emmy silences him. Emmy tells them to talk to Quetzal. Having bought some time, she tries to fix the trumpet. She thinks that she's got it working, but it doesn't work when Wheezie plays it. Wheezie blames Zak for the mishap. Emmy, feeling guilty, tries to get Cassie to tell Wheezie what happened. Cassie tries to, but she can't get it out and Wheezie gets the idea that Cassie broke it. Cassie gets upset. Max tells Quetzal what happened and Quetzal has a talk with Emmy. Emmy spins a story of a little mouse with a ribbon in her hair breaking something that belonged to a two-headed turtle to try cover her tracks. Quetzal's not impressed and suggests that Emmy tell Wheezie herself what happened. So she does and Quetzal fixes the remaining problem by working his magic to repair Wheezie's trumpet. They put on their show, which goes quite well. Back in the playroom, Max confesses that he broke Emmy's doll. Emmy explains that the doll was already broken. So Max admits that he broke a teaset as well. Uh oh.
18. Quibbling Siblings / Wheezie's Hairball
First aired: 10/20/1999#11801 "Quibbling Siblings" Zak is excited about trying to find a rare Jugglebug for school Sharing Time. But Wheezie's being a real pain - she makes noise when he's trying to sleep, ruins his breakfast and loses his magnifying glass. He retreats by placing a large cone over his head so he can't hear her. She doesn't understand why he's so angry, so Emmy and Max explain and Wheezie begins to realize how important the mission is to Zak. #11802 "Wheezie's Hairball" Emmy and Max are greeted in Dragon Land by a strange orange fur ball, Zak and Wheezie's new pet, Slurpy. They're learning how to take care of him, and it isn't easy! Since he can't talk, Slurpy tries to communicate by bouncing twice and spinning around.
19. A Tall Tale / Stormy Weather
Community Score
9.0 Superb
#11901 "A Tall Tale" Max is playing with blocks in the playroom, but he finds that he's too short to reach the top of his block structure. He complains about being too short to reach the top of it because that's what Max does: complain about being too short to do anything. The dragon scale glows, as Max and Emmy are once again called to Dragon Land. When they get there, Ord introduces them to Eunice, an unicorn with purple mane and a gold horn. Eunice tries to say hi to Max and Emmy, but she ends up greeting a dragonberry bush. She's nearsighted and she can't see very well without her glasses. She describes them: a pair of pink glasses with sparkles on them. She finally finds Max and Emmy, but she has the idea that Max is a dragon, and without her glasses, she has to be told differently before realizing that Max is a kid. Zak and Wheezie pop out of their knuckerhole and help the others with searching. They ask her where she was before her glasses went missing. She says that she had been flying around near some mountains. They go have a look. Zak drops his magnifying glass, but Max thinks that he sees something sparkly in the trees. They head down to check it out. Neither Zak and Wheezie nor Max are able to get a hold of it, so Ord shakes the tree, getting it down. It's not the glasses though, just Zak's magnifying glass. This time, they decide to ask Eunice exactly what she was doing when the glasses went missing. Eunice says that she was flying in the clouds. So they head for the clouds, while Eunice continues, saying that she bumped into something. Max pops his head above the clouds, and warns the gang that they're headed straight for a gap. They stop in time, but Eunice gets stuck in the gap. Ord, thanks to his great strength, is able to pull her out. Max thinks that it was fun, and wants to do it again. This is the place where Eunice was when she lost her glasses, so they start looking around. Emmy spots the glasses, but they're on a difficult to reach ledge. Ord tries grabbing on to them with his tail, but he can't reach. Zak and Wheezie gives it a go. Wheezie exclaims that her tail got something, Zak suddenly goes paranoid, fearing a snapping turtle, but it turns out it was just Eunice's glasses, which he's now knocked to an even lower ledge. None of them are small enough to go in, except Max. Ord wraps Max with his tail and lowers Max into the ledge. Max, happy that being small is an advantage for once, returns the glasses to Eunice. She puts them on and looks at Max. Now that she can see that Max isn't a dragon, she thinks she's kind of cute. She then asks them if they can help her find some other stuff, but Emmy and Max are out of there. Back in the playroom, Max destorys the block structure he was working on. #11902 "Stormy Weather" In the playroom, Emmy's packing a present. Max wants to help out, so Emmy asks him to help tape it, but he gets the present stuck to his hand. They head for Dragon Land. In Dragon Land, Ord is pestering his Mom for some of his birthday cake. His Mom says they can do that later, but first they have to prepare for the party. Ord blows up a balloon, but let it flies when Max and Emmy appears in front of him, surprising him. He hugs them (and the gift). Max comments on the gift. Ord wants to open it. His mom suggests opening it at the party instead. They go to Cloud Island, a playground with modern human playground facilities (Springy dragon rides included) built on a cloud . Cassie, Zak and Wheezie have already made it. Ord spots a raincloud coming, and tries to alert them. They're not listening, since they're having too much fun, but then they notice the thunder. Ord's upset by this and he turns invisible, then flies off towards a cave, wrecking a doodle fairy's tea party in the process. The cave is lit by strange birds who're hatching glowing eggs. In safety, Ord drops his invisibility shield, as everyone else arrives to see what's going on. A storm hits. They're stuck in the cave. Ord pulls out a blanket and covers himself with it. Max asks Ord to completely cover himself and then when Ord does it, he tickles him. It takes Ord's mind off the storm, but only for a while. Wheezie recommends playing a party game, such as "pin the tail on the donkey." They can use a vine with thorns as the tail. Max draws a primitive picture of a donkey on the wall. Ord comments that something is missing. It's the tail, of course, so they blindfold Ord and spin him around so he can play the game. Ord starts to move around, and tries to give the vine to Zak and Wheezie as a second tail, instead of pinning the tail on the donkey. This "pinning" is a bit painful to Zak, but Cassie has a band-aid in her pouch to solve the problem. Zak tries another idea to calm Ord: play Orchestra. He can imagine that the thunder is a big drum, the pattering of the rain is smaller drums, and the wind are flutes. Ord gives it a try. It works, but only during the game. Max decides to let Ord open his present. It's a new security blanket. Max suggests that Ord use it to play superhero. Ord puts on and becomes Super Ord! Ord then comments that he's not afraid of thunder. His dragon badge glows and rain goes away. They head back for the party, where Ord wants go gobble the whole dragonberry cake up, but his Mom suggests that he gives some to his friends as well. Emmy and Max, after enjoying some cake, go home. A nice outside shot of their home is shown and then they materialize in the playroom. It's thundering outside, so it's obvious there's a storm coming. Max puts on a cape to become "Super Max."

#12001 "Blowin' in the Wind" Max and Emmy are in the playroom, singing variant of "Here We Go 'Round the Mulberry Bush" that replaces "mulberry" with "dragonberry." They then decide to go to Dragon Land. It's pretty windyj, which isn't really suitable for Ord's picnic. Max steps on Ord's sandwich. Cassie explains that a wind has been following them since morning. Windy, the wind, is practicing to be a blustery wind. She's allowed to blow some clouds to Snowy Summit and tries to show off, but she isn't very good at whistling. She thinks that she's whistled, but Emmy breaks the news to her that she hasn't. Emmy and Cassie, along with the others, take Windy to Echo Cave to teach her to whistle. They yell nonsense into the cave. ("It really does echo, see?! And for my next trick...") Max's attempt at whistling just ends up with him blowing raspberry and Ord ends up blowing firebreath. Emmy and Cassie explain the first step in whistling: you have to make an O with your lips. They still can't do it, so Emmy explains the next step: put the tip of your tongue behind your teeth. It's better, but Max still hasn't got it and his failed attempt gets echoed back at him. Windy tries again, but it still doesn't work and she runs away. Emmy and Cassie catch up with her and try it again. They explain the steps again: put your tongue behind teeth, make O with mouth, suck in, and blow out. Max finally gets it, Ord almost does it. Windy tries one more time and succeeds. She's finally able to do it! Windy tries to blow some clouds, but they're really big and she can't blow them. Cassie suggests that she tries a smaller cloud. This works... but what to do about the large clouds? Windy's Dad can help with that. Along with Windy, she blows the cloud to Snowy Summit. Max starts having trouble whistling again. Wanting to prove that he can still whistle, he pulls out a referee whistle from his pocket and blows it. This gets a good laugh from everyone, then Max and Emmy return to the playroom. It's windy outside, and Max finds himself wondering if it's Windy's work. He blows the referee whistle and gets a reply back. #12002 "No Hitter" In the playroom, Max is practicing playing Dragon Ball with a plush dragon. Emmy asks if Max is ready for the game in Dragon Land and Max says that he is. He wants to know if he can pitch. Emmy, not really paying attention to her younger brother, says that he can. They get to Dragon Land where their dragon friends give them a group hug. Quetzal explains the rules of the game, which is something like baseball meets soccer meets volleyball meets tag, or perhaps just a slightly modified version of basic kickball. Emmy gets ready to pitch. Wait a second... wasn't Max supposed to pitch? Emmy's set on pitching though and she won't let Max pitch. She explains to Max that she didn't really hear him properly and didn't undrstand what she was agreeing to. Max doesn't like this explanation --- he gets frustrated and hits Emmy. Quetzal pulls Max aside. The game starts. Cassie hits the ball right into Ord's pouch. The delay gives the visitors an advantage and they score, making it one to nothing. On the side, Quetzal explains to Max that the first rule of conduct in Dragon Land is "no hitting." A series of bad plays causes Max to get angry with Ord and kick his tail. Yellow card! Max's out. Quetzal talks with Max again, where they work out a strategy of having him kick dragon balls when he feels like kicking something. Back on the field, Wheezie pulls her screaming Wheezie kick, only to suffer a Charlie Brown fate. (Lucy always holds out a football for Charlie Brown to kick, only to pull it away right when Charlie Brown would kick it.) Emmy steps up to the plate and there's finally some action. She kicks the ball for a home run. Cassie's turn. She kicks the ball, but finds herself trapped between bases. She would be tagged out, but fools the opposition with the old "What's that in the sky?" trick to score another home run. At the end of the first half of the game, Quetzal's team is two points behind and Max is allowed back in. He manages to tag a dragon out. Ord gets another turn, but fails to get on base. Zak puts on his safety helmet. He and Wheezie nearly get tagged, but manage to score yet another home run! With the score tied, it's up to Max to win the game. He gets two strikes, but then kicks the ball for a home run, winning the game. Max and Emmy return to the playroom, each with the own trophy. Max kicks off one of one his shoes, which lands in Emmy's trophy.

#12101 "Do Not Pass Gnome" As we open the program, Emmy is playing with a yo-yo. Max wants to play, but Emmy says no - he might break it. She puts the yo-yo up somewhere high. Max, determind to try it, gets it down. Predictably, he breaks it. Emmy's fuming mad. Max hopes that the dragons can help. Emmy hopes so too, otherwise, she's out of a yo-yo. They go to Dragon Land. The dragons are jumping rope and singing a jump-rope related version of "London Bridges." Zak and Wheezie get tangled up and land with a hard thud. Max and Emmy appear and explain the problem with the yo-yo. Wheezie tries to repair it with clewing gum. It didn't work. Ord tries using tape. Emmy asks how are they going to get to the string. Ord suggests using the tape as the string. That's not a good idea, as Ord ends up "mummifying" his hand with the tape, he gets wrapped all around. Simon, a gnome and one of the funniest looking characters on the series appears. He offers to help, but as usual, there's a catch- they have to play his game. He goes into full game show mode, using magic to make himself a microphone and using canned audience response. The idea is to play Simon Says on a game board strip. That doesn't sound too hard, so Max gets onto the game board. Simon didn't say get on the game board. Simon says go back, but Max's at the starting point of the strip. He has to be penalized somehow though, so suddenly the game strip extends back a whole ton of squares. Zak wants to go find Quetzal (why didn't they think of that before?) They can't just leave Max there though and he's stuck on the strip. Simon is using magic to keep him from moving off. They decide to help Max, but not without protesting from Zak. Okay, Simon says move forward 4 steps. So they do. Simon then offers them a cookie. Ord accepts the offer, but Simon didn't say "Simon Says" before the offer, so it's back four spaces. The next command is to touch each other's tale with the right hand and he says Simon Says before it, so they get to move forward four steps. Next command- touch each other with both hands. Max motions to do it. Emmy tries to warn Max, but it's too lat and they're penalized again. They're given a chance to move forward quick. The gamepad they've been standing on becomes stairs, which allows them to progress a lot farther. They're able to do this for a while, but then Cassie screws up, so the stairway turns into a slide, sending them back onto the pad. Next, Simon wants them to do the limbo. One by one they get knocked out - first Zak & Wheezie, then Cassie and Emmy. Max moves steadily on. He makes it to the last pad. Simon tells him that he wins and Max begins to get excited, but then he catches Simon's bluff. This time, he says "Simon Says, You Win," so they really do and Simon works his magic to repair the yo-yo. At home, Emmy plays "Emmy Says" with Max, but Max loses his balance. #12102 "Treasure Hunt" In the playroom, Emmy is calmly reading. So, of course, annoying Max whips out his toy car collection and begins playing with a red truck. Emmy tries to distract Max from this nonsense, telling Max that the book she's reading says dragons also collect things - like gold, pearls and the like. Max wonders where they keep the stuff. They head to Dragon Land to find out. Meanwhile, in Dragon Land, school has just ended. The dragons all rush out the door, just as Emmy and Max materialize directly in front of them. The dragons screech to a halt, resulting in a dragon pileup. Emmy talks to Quetzal, asking him where dragons keep their collections. Quetzal explains. In the knuckerhole, there's a place called the "Treasure Trove." They want to have a look, so Quetzal hands them the keys - 2 triangle rubies, 2 round pearls, 2 gold bars. He also warns them to take the keys with them once the door opens. They head for the trove, but not before taking their friends with them. They get in, but forget the keys, so Zak becomes paranoid, convinced they're trapped in there forever, even though they never get trapped anywhere. The door they entered introduces itself as Woody. And he'd love to help, but the treasure keys are outside and without the keys, there's nothing he can do. It's not a problem though because they can get more keys. Woody tells them where to find the treasures in the cave, which sort of defeats the whole treasure-quest thing, but whatever. There's rubies in a sculptured dragon head, pearls in a fountain, and gold bars in a gold chest. They all head off. Zak and Wheezie look for the gold bars, but she becomes convinced that they're in a red chest. They open a red chest, which is actually a Jack-in-the-treasure-chest! Zak bangs his head. Ord tries green chest and gets overwhelmed by bubbles. They're all forgetting stuff because it's not like they've never faced this sort of problem before in any previous episodes and so they don't know how to solve this. They head back to Woody, who repeats the instructions. This time, they delegate a job to each a pair each. They get the jewels, which let them open the door and get out. Max and Emmy return to the playroom, where Max says that he still likes toy car collection better than any "treasures." In response to Emmy's wondering why, he pulls out the truck he was playing with before and knocks down a block structure.

#12201 "The Jumping Bean Express" In the playroom, Max and Emmy are playing with a miniature basketball set. Emmy shoots and scores a 3-pointer. Suddenly Dragon Scale glows - they're being summoned to Dragon Land. So, we hear the rhyme that we're now all familiar with, and the dragon decorations on the wall come alive and surround them. In Dragon Land, Ord, Cassie, Zak and Wheezie are holding on to a cage. Max and Emmy arrive and Ord hands them a hug. A bug? Well, it has to do with what's in the cage: two jumping beans that are unlike the kind in the real world - these beans have faces and can do animal tricks. Quetzal then shows up and breifs our friends on what to do: they are to return the beans to Quetzal's brother, Fernando. So, the kids and the dragons set off to do Quetzal's bidding. Halfway through, Emmy comments on the beans doing tricks. This causes Wheezie to want to show off, and in the lieu of confusion, she manouvers in such a way that Zak's head knocks the cage out of Emmy's hands. Ord and Max try to get it, but the cage bounces off Ord's head instead. Ouch. They failed. Wheezie and Zak try to get it, and almost do, but the cage is too fast for them. The cage bounces into a tree, then into a bush, then opens up. The beans then pack their suitcases, bid adieu, and run off. Where did they go? Wheezie spots them and they get to them, but how do they catch them? Ord starts pulling stuff out of his pouch. How about a candy cane? Nope, that won't do any good. A trumpet? Nah. Aha! A bug net! But the beans are fast and so instead of catching the beans in his net, Ord snags a doodle fairy. Sorry! They see the beans go across a bridge and follow them. Unfortunately, while crossing the bridge, they don't notice that there are small rocks next to the bridge that form another path across the river, and the beans are using it to get back! Now they're playing a back and forth game with the beans. They eventually nab them, but as they take to the air to continue on their journey, the beans escape once again. They catch up quickly and see the beans on a pair of trees. They brainstorm on how to get the beans down and back into the cage. Wheezie suggests that they pretend to be beans too and jump on them. Zak thinks that it's a stupid idea - since they want to get the beans back, not sqush them. Cassie thinks Wheezie's idea might work and relates her plan to them. But they're too big. Emmy suggests that they can use their fingers, then asks Ord for some finger paint. So the beans are playing in the trees, when suddenly a female bean appears. The beans, being males, let their instinct take control of them and heads off to mate... er, meet the female. Meanwhile, Max and Ord quietly sneak up from behind and cage them. Emmy emerges from the bush - turns out that her finger was the female! And so, with the beans back in the cage, they head off to find Fernando. They do. Fernando looks just like Quetzal, except that he has a deeper voice! He then lets the beans out. They all fret- they're going to escape again! Wait, not so. Fernando has a dragonberry cupcake and the jumping beans will never run when there's a dragonberry cupcake around. Now wouldn't that have been helpful earlier- since Ord always keeps a dragonberry cupcake in his pouch! The jumping beans make quick work of the cupcake and Max and Emmy return to their playroom. Max says that he wants to do a jumpshot. Emmy lets him. Max gets the ball, and jumps towards the net before dunking the ball. When asked what kind of shot that is, Max says that it's a jumping bean shot. How clever. #12202 "Get Offa My Cloud" Max is in the playroom with Emmy. He wants to know what she's doing. It's a project for class. They're planting carrot seeds inside a plastic cup filled with soil. They water it everyday, then, when the carrot's ready, they just pull it out. Emmy waters the seedling as she complains that it's slow. They get the idea tht plants grow fast in Dragon Land and decide to go there. They arrive and Ord gives them a big hug. Emmy tells Ord her idea, which Ord really likes. They only brought carrot seeds. Fortunately, Ord has fruits in his pouch. Well, you can't exactly plant fruits, so Ords eats them up and neatly spits the seeds. Cassie then explains that they have something called Wonder Water in Dragon Land to make the seeds grow fast. She heads off to get a canful. Meanwhile, Emmy and Ord get to work. Max tries to help, but instead, he ruins things. So, he takes a seat under a shady tree. Meanwhile, Cassie returns with a can of Wonder Water. She warns that they must only use a drop on each seed. Having watered the plants, they head off to Ord's cave to have lunch. Max didn't want to come along. He decides to head back to the garden, where he decides that maybe he should have another try at helping. He pours lots of water on a single seed. That wasn't such a good idea. There's a bit of an earthquake as suddenly the small seed shoots up into a very large plant. One of the leaves get under Max, and lifts him up - way up - on to a cloud. There, he finda a little gnome guy with the attitude of Zak named Squink, who got up there by means of a bubble, but hasn't got down since. Meanwhile, everybody else returns to the vegetable patch, only to find Max missing. Back on top of the plant, Max accidentally drips some Wonder Water onto Squink's beard, causing it to elongate. This prompts Max to think. Suddenly, he remembers that he still has some carrot seeds in his pocket, and carrots grow downwards. So, he plants them with the remaining amount of soil he has in his pocket into the cloud, and pours lots of Wonder Water on it. A giant carrot grows, with it's root protruding down the cloud. Max plans to use the carrot as a very long sliding pole. Back down on the ground, Ord suddenly spots Max's giant carrot, and alerts the gang. They head towards it, where they find Max sliding down. They also find that he's a hero, as he rescued Squink from being in that cloud for so long. They celebrate and then Max and Emmy have to go home. Back home, Max wants to water the carrot, but Emmy won't let him. They start to fight over the watering can, and end up spilling the water on their feet. Max thinks that maybe they will get big feet. They both laugh at this idea.

They then have to work together to get things moving in the right direction again. #12302 "Sounds Like Trouble" A ball-game sends Max, Emmy and the dragons scrambling into a dark cave after losing a goo ball. #12401 "The Greatest Show in Dragon Land" The show opens with Max playing on a slide made out of pillows. Emmy enters the room. Max asks her if she is interested in playing with his slide. She says no because they're going to Wonderworld with their friends in Dragon Land. So, they take the magical dragon scale out of the drawer and wish upon it like they always do. In Dragon Land, Ord and Cassie are sitting under a tree, on the lookout for Emmy and Max. Emmy and Max appear and Ord gives them a hug. Now, where's Zak and Wheezie? A knuckerhole opens up, and Zak and Wheezie crawls out of it. Wheezie hurt her wing falling off the swing the day before. The gang takes off for Wonderworld. Zak and Wheezie too try to take off, but ended up spinning around - Wheezie can't fly because of the cast on her wing. So, they can't go - or can they? Emmy suggests they walk. Zak and Wheezie are reluctant at first, but decide to go ahead. They soon come upon their first obstacle - Dragoon Lagoon. It would take ages to walk around it and there's no boat anywhere in sight. Zak and Wheezie want to pull out again, but Cassie has an idea. She asks Ord if he has any snacks. Ord says that he has some stale fish crackers. He pulls the packet of fish crackers out of his pouch, munches on some, comments that they're not that stale, then munches on them some more. Cassie stops him and says that she can use them. So, how's a little fish going to help them across? Turns out that it's no little fish Cassie's calling, but Fifi, the sea serpent. They get on and Fifi takes them across. Halfway through, Ord slips and falls off Fifi, but manages to get hold of Fifi's tail and water-skies the rest of the way. They make it across. Max wants to go again, but there's no time for that. They have to continue on their journey to Wonderworld. So, what's next? They have to cross the rainforest. Now, unlike the typical rainforests that exists in our world, these rainforests has rain pouring down non-stop, and it's getting heavier! Zak and Wheezie wants to pull out again, for Wheezie's not supposed to get her cast wet. But Emmy has a plan. They all coast through the rainforest on a hollowed-out log. Up next, a snow-covered hill. So, they climb it. They reach the top and see Wonderworld. But it will take forever to get down! Zak and Wheezie wants to go back, but trips and falls on the way. This gives Emmy an idea - they'll slide down the hill! So, Zak covers Wheezie's cast with a sock, and the gang slides down the hill, with Ord making a dragonberry snowcone along the way. They've made it! They enter Wonderworld, but to their disgust, it's a kiddie park with rides that pale in comparison to all of the stuff they just did to get there. Rather than entering the park, they just decide to go back on, the same way they came. Max and Emmy have to leave though. They return to the playroom. Max asks Emmy if she still wants to play on his slide. Emmy declines. She's says that she's pooped, and falls asleep on one of the pillows. It isn't long before Max is getting sleep either. #12402 "Prepare According to Instructions" Max and Emmy are getting on their boots, it just stopped raining and they're going out to jump in the puddles. Of course, since they're excited about getting to jump in the puddles, it starts raining again. They decide to go to Dragon Land instead. Max and Emmy materialize in the School in the Sky, where Quetzal is reading to the dragons. Quetzal was just telling a tale about dancing crystals. Using his magic, he brings an illustration from the book to life to show the crystals doing the can-can. Emmy asks Quetzal for the directions to get there. They have to get a bucket of water from the Singing Springs, some dandilion fuzzies from the dandelion forest and finally, get to turtle rock and take ten steps from there. Also, they must do all of this by sundown. So, the gang gets ready to set off on their journey. Cassie asks Emmy if they should go get some things. Emmy declines. The gang sets off. Zak and Wheezie, meanwhile, are taking precautions. They go back to the School in the sky, and take their first aid kit. Wheezie also takes some flowers before they set off. So, the gang regroups, and arrives at the Singing Springs. They go to get the water, but they don't have a bucket. Emmy asks Ord if he has a bucket, but he doesn't. So Max and Emmy decide to use their rain boots to carry the water. One problem solved. Next, the dandelion forest. Zak and Wheezie run into a dandelion. Zak's fine, but Wheezie's got a booboo. Cassie's only got one band-aid left. Luckily, they have more in their first aid kit. Ord then starts sneezing because of his allergy to dandelions, but fortunately Zak and Wheezie has some tissues in the first aid kit as well. They get their dandelion fuzzies. Now, to head to Turtle Rock. Except they don't remember how to get to Turtle Rock. Cassie offers to go back for the map. Emmy asks Cassie to bring a little something extra. Cassie returns with the map and they all head to Turtle Rock, and finds the cave. They go in. It's dark and Ord's scared, but it turns out that the "something extra" is Quetzal's lamp. So now they have light. So, they go in, and soon reaches this place where there seems to be a stage. Now what? First, pour the water from the singing spring out of Max's boot. The water reacts with the soil, causing lively jazz music to start playing. Next, they throw the dandelion fuzzies up onto the stage. Lights light up the stage, as the crystals on the ground pop up and does the can-can as the gang watches on. Soon, the show's over. Emmy wishes to thank the crystals for the dance. Wheezie to the rescue, and gives the flowers she plucked earlier to the crystals as their token of appriciation. Max and Emmy go home. The rain has stopped, so they can go outside and jump in the puddles. Max goes in the closet and comes out with a raincoat, an umbrella, and flippers. Emmy comments that they're going to jump in the puddles, not go scuba diving.

The gang meets up with a creature called Mister Pop, who's a green troll dude wearing a blue and yellow jester's type outfit and with a red top hat with a single pink stripe. Mister Pop possesses a device called a Super Duper Sound Switcher. When Wheezie laughs, Mister Pop will do anything to get the laugh for himself. 26. Crash Landings / The Big Cake Mix-Up
Community Score
8.3 Great
#12601 "Crash Landings" Max and Emmy are in the playroom, Emmy dressed as a coach complete with a whistle. She's going to coach the dragons for the big relay race that's happening in Dragon Land. Max wants to help and Emmy says that he can be her assistant. They head for Dragon Land. There, Zak and Wheezie are admiring the gold trophy that's the prize for winning the race. As they admire it, Max and Emmy materialize, inside the trophy. Everybody heads for the School in the Sky, where Quetzal explains the relay race, using his big storybook as an aid. He shows them that Cassie takes off first. She'll fly for a while and then tag a waiting Ord. Ord will then race and tag Zak and Wheezie. Zak and Wheezie do the final leg of the race, heading for the finish line. It's not as easy as it sounds though, as there are two other teams competing. They head out and Coach Emmy starts coaching the dragons. She has them do warmup and Max asks what he can do to help. Emmy has him get some water from the river to drink. The dragons do their stretches, but Ord messes up and it causes a chain reaction, which ends up with Zak getting a bucket on his head when Max returns with the water. Emmy decides that's enough stretching and has them practice flying. This is where problems really begin. Wheezie goes really fast and doesn't watch where she's going. She nearly flies into a tree and then ends up crashing her and Zak into a muddy creek. Zak complains that he hurts all over, but it's mostly his elbow that hurts. Cassie puts a bandage on it and asks if he feels better. Zak says that he does, especially so, since he's decided that he's never flying again. When the gang is shocked by this, he says that it's too dangerous. Wheezie tries to make concessions, saying that she'll let him determine the speed. They try this, but it's not really working. They're going too slow (a turtle is shown zooming by them for effect) and they're also flying too low to the ground (a snail is shown inching by in this case.) This isn't working, so they have to try something else. They figure that maybe Zak could fly really fast if he had some padding. They suit him up with a helmet, pillows and all sorts of padding, but this doesn't work either. The padding is so heavy that they can't fly straight. Worse, there's no more time to noodle out solutions - the race is starting! Cassie takes off, but is somewhat overtaken by the other dragons. She reaches Ord and tags him. As everyone counted on, Ord's a speed-demon and he passes the other dragons that passed Cassie. He tags Zak and Wheezie. Zak figures that with Ord's speed, he and Wheezie could fly at his speed and they'd still win. He's soon shocked however when he's passed by the other competitors. Wheezie uses the thought of the trophy as an appeal and Zak comes to a decision and casts off the padding that's slowing them down. They take off really fast, passing the other dragons and winning first prize. #12602 "The Big Cake Mix-Up" Max and Emmy head to Dragon Land, where the dragons are excited about preparing a cake for the Annual Baking Contest. The first prize is a cookbook. Quetzal loves cooking and so they want to win the cookbook for him. The first thing to do is get the ingredients. They're making a draognberry carrot cake and they need flour, milk, eggs, carrots and dragonberries. They all head off. We see that Ord and Max are gathering eggs. They've gathered a whole bunch. Ord cracks a couple, but it's not a big deal because they had a full basket. The scene switches to Zak and Wheezie, who we see are getting... eggs? Their strategy is slightly different: they've found a chicken and Wheezie's having it lay eggs, calling them "Strikes" as if it were a baseball game. One of the eggs ends up cracking on Zak's head, which Wheezie calls a foul ball. Everybody gathers, where we learn that Emmy and Cassie also got eggs. This isn't working. They were all supposed to get different ingredients, but they didn't choose who was going to get what. They try again, this time specifically agreeing to each get different ingredients. With that finally settled, they go ahead with the making of the cake. But nobody wants to follow the recipe and everyone wants to put their items into the mix first. Wheezie decides they need a chef and appoints "Zaky" the chef. Zak is a good chef and he consults the recipe. They encounter some problems. They don't have baking pans big enough for the mix, so they decide to make a layer cake. They aren't allowed to use sharp tools and are worried they can't grate the carrots, but Ord solves that problem with his sharp tail. There's another problem: what happened to the dragonberries? Ord doesn't admit as much onscreen, but it's obvious that he ate them. They don't have any spares, so they use popcorn instead. There's one other problem: they're not allowed to use the oven without their parents' help. Wheezie solves that problem: "MOOOOOOOMMMMM!" They enter the cake in the contest and start telling Quetzal all about everything that happened while they were making in it. They watch the judging, their cake came in... second place?! They didn't win. This means Quetzal doesn't get the cookbook. It turns out that Quetzal doesn't mind though. There's something that Quetzal enjoys even more than cooking - eating popcorn carrot cake. Back home, Emmy and Max are full. They realized they haven't planned things very well, as Mom calls them for dinner.

#12701 "Quetzal's Magic Pop-Up Book" It's Storytime, but everybody has their own story that they want Quetzal to read. Quetzal can't read them all, so he introduces them to his magic pop-up book, an amazing book in which you imagine the story, and it comes to life. At first, nobody can agree on what story to tell, or what order to go in, but then Cassie comes up with an idea to solve their problem. #12702 "My Way or Snow Way" When Emmy and Max arrive at Dragon Land, it's snowing. Emmy and Max suggest a game of hide and seek. When Max wanders upon a snowman, it turns out to be a live, talking snowman. His name is Chilly and he's from Stickleback Mountain. He lost Nippy, his pet snow puppy, and he needs to find him before he melts. Can Max and Emmy and our dragon friends help find him? Wheezie has a "whistle" of a good idea, but when it doesn't work the first (or second) time, everyone becomes irritated when Wheezie wants to try it again.
