The short-lived "240-Robert" presented the exploits of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office "Emergency Services Detail." The ESD were two deputies (John Bennett Perry and a young Mark Harmon) in a specially equipped four-wheel drive Ford Bronco and another deputy (Joanna Cassidy) in a helicopter. They usually encountered two or three rescue-type situations during an episode, much like "CHiPs" or "Emergency!". The title "240-Robert", by the way, was the call sign/unit designation for the Ford Bronco (240-Robert-2) and the helicopter (240-Robert-Air).
